Happy New Year! 🎉

A plan isn’t about perfection—it’s about direction.

Starting the year off strong, I’ve been thinking a lot about timing. I postponed this article on purpose to make a point: it’s never too late to get started.

We often dive headfirst into January, full of enthusiasm, scribbling down resolutions and big plans for the year ahead. And let’s be honest—most of us abandon those goals before the month is over. Life happens, motivation fades, and suddenly, those grand ambitions feel out of reach.

But here’s the thing: a plan isn’t about perfection—it’s about direction.

When I started building Vaunt, I didn’t have everything figured out. I had a rough idea, a few scattered notes, and a lot of doubt. But I didn’t wait for the perfect moment or the perfect plan. Instead, I focused on creating something actionable, something I could revisit, refine, and actually follow through with.

And that’s the key: your plan should work for you, not against you.

So if you’re staring at a blank notebook or feeling behind because you haven’t mapped out every detail for 2025 yet, take a deep breath. Here’s a simple framework I’ve found helpful:

  1. Start small: Outline just three things you want to achieve this month.

  2. Stay flexible: Your goals might evolve, and that’s okay. Adjust your plan as needed.

  3. Reflect often: Make time to review what’s working and what’s not.

This approach has kept me grounded, especially in the chaos of running a startup. Plans change, but having a structure to fall back on gives you clarity and confidence to keep moving forward.

Remember, it’s not about how perfectly you start—it’s about staying consistent and learning along the way.

So let’s make this year one of action, growth, and resilience. After all, the best time to start is whenever you’re ready.

Here’s to making 2025 your most intentional year yet.

If you wanna get more tactical about things, stay tuned for part 2 where I share step by step how I planned for our 2025 as a company and some things I learnt on the way.
