Nobody’s going to give you permission to do things
I used to think you had to have all the answers before doing something big.
That’s not true. Not in business, and definitely not in life.
It’s not that you shouldn’t think things through, but there’s a point where more planning just becomes avoidance. You can spend years in courses, coaching, strategy docs, talking about your idea. But doing is what actually builds momentum.
Over time, I realized:
Clarity comes from action, not preparation.
And no, it’s not because I thrive on chaos. It’s because I stopped letting hesitation pretend to be “being responsible.”
Most of the messages I get are some version of:
“How do I get started?”
Honestly?
You just do. Nobody’s going to show up and give you permission. You have to move first, even when you’re unsure.
Here’s what started to shift for me:
I launched early versions of our products and landing pages without obsessing over every detail. Most people didn’t even notice. What mattered is they existed and I could iterate. Relaunch, relaunch, relaunch.
I kept talking about what we were building next and followed through. Some of the best intros I’ve gotten happened because people knew what I was working on.
I built a distribution plan before the product was even done. It worked. And now I apply that approach to everything.
I stopped waiting for “the right moment” to ask for feedback. I ask early, I share early, I build relationships before I need them. It makes everything easier later.
Every single time I moved before I felt “ready,” I got more feedback, more traction, and more confidence.
It’s counterintuitive, but the truth is: perfection slows you down. Especially in startups. I care way more about building something that lasts through market cycles than something that just looks polished from the outside.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
“Ready” is a moving target.
Most people wait too long and miss their window.
Action beats overthinking, every single time.
Repeat yourself. Relaunch until it sticks. No one’s paying as much attention as you think.
If you’re building something:
Don’t wait to feel qualified.
Don’t wait for permission.
Just move.
You’ll figure it out while doing it, not before.

What’s one thing you’re going to do today to move the needle forward?
