Unlocking Success: How 'Magical Hour' Thinking Transformed My Business and Life!
Questioning things is essential when building.
When I started asking myself how I see the world in the next 10 years and how it’s going to impact what I am building, that’s when I began to make significant progress.
I’ve been a builder for the majority of my life, questioning the status quo since I was a little kid. I remember putting my mother in uncomfortable positions as she had to answer questions about religion, politics, space, and everyday life.
I’ve been tinkering with products as early as I can remember. Whenever I encounter new information or something unfamiliar, I always ask myself why things are a certain way. Interestingly enough, I never thought this kind of mindset would help me further along in my life as a founder.
Questioning things is essential when building. Learning how to ask the right questions and make the best decisions can be monumental in your journey as a founder and can make or break your business.
Especially at the early stage, your company is a reflection of you as a founder. Your team’s performance is a reflection of your leadership. Everything is connected. If something doesn’t work out, it’s your responsibility. This has been a tough but important lesson since starting my journey. It’s challenging to foster critical thinking, to think independently, to come up with new perspectives, and to identify your blind spots. By doing this, you evolve as a person and ultimately, your company evolves too.
That is why one of the best things I’ve been doing, encouraged by my coach ☀️ Georgiana Vintila Nenciu, is to schedule time in my calendar for thinking. We call it the “Magical Hour”—it’s my personal space to reflect on myself and the business. Creating space for thinking is essential. Otherwise, inertia might slowly take over, crippling you, and leading to a monotonous existence where all days look and feel the same.
I believe that making time to think about your business and where your life is heading not only provides the space to break free from the mindset of constantly putting out fires but also helps you play the long game in business and find true meaning and joy in what you do.
Now a question for you: How often do you take time to think about your life, your business, or your career? I would love to hear your thoughts.
